Becoming a book editor has always been a dream of mine. It sounded perfect for me, but also unattainable living in a state far from the publishing hub, New York City (also a very expensive place to live!). Despite it all, I worked to save up for two years and finally made the move two years ago. It wasn't until recently that I actually got a job in publishing: I had to spend two years working in retail, freelancing, and partaking in an unpaid internship before it all came together. I'm so glad I didn't give up on my dream and endured the struggle, because I now feel like I'm right where I'm meant to be!

I am 32 years old, Pharmacist, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil and the youngest one in a very powerful 4 women family (mom and 3 daughters). I moved to United States in May 2014 to pursue my dreams. Last year I got married to the love of my life, and I work in the biopharmaceutical industry. Almost 5 years later, I can say that I was very brave coming to this land by myself, without knowing anyone and anything. So happy with my decision to take a leap of faith.

I created my own digital advertising agency last year. I'm living my dream, working on my own schedule, hustling at my pace, and supporting the man who has always supported me. Our lives, our happiness levels - even our passports are full! The decision to craft a career that works for me vs. a career that I work for has let me volunteer a lot! I've also taken up learning Chinese AND Korean & am overall just very happy.

I started practicing law many years ago when the field was pretty much men only. I worked hard trying over 200 jury trials, with mostly favorable outcomes, showing that women can do it and do it all!

I had my child while in graduate school and finished with a Ph.D. in chemistry. I work full time, make time for my child and I am active in my community. I love to draw/paint and read in my spare time.

I am an upbeat 25-year-old with a fervor to live life with my eyes on the road ahead rather than looking in the rear-view mirror. I am a Navy Helicopter Pilot. Starting at a young age, I knew I wanted to be a member of the military and through hard work and determination I became not only a Navy Sailor but also a Helicopter Pilot. This end-goal did not come without trial and tribulation. Through it all, I have kept my smile, my positive attitude. Every path we go down in life is much better traveled with a smile on your face and a hopeful disposition.

I'm an Asian American female who's passionate about breaking down mental health stigma within Asian and minority cultures. I work at a PTSD unit at a psychiatric hospital with survivors of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. The women at the unit inspire me daily with their courage, grit, and strength. I'm passionate about increasing the number of Asian and minority individuals who receive mental health treatment. I'm hoping to attend graduate school for clinical psychology so that I can more effectively work with immigrant and minority populations.

I had difficult childhood - my mother lived with undiagnosed mental illness. Because of experiences growing up, it lit a fire in me to make my circumstances different as an adult and I received my master’s in social work from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville to help those in similar situations. I have found that self-care with makeup, haircare and skincare items has helped me to take care of myself and to focus on what is, not what isn’t.

I am a wife and mother of two. I raise my kids to my best ability and I try to be the best wife I can be! I’m a strong independent woman and set goals for my life so that I can teach my children that anything can be obtained with hard work and dedication.

I am a student, and am using my voice and time to advocate for girls’ education around the world. One of my professors told me that only 7% of world receives a college education, and that inspired me to make a difference. I started my college’s chapter of She’s the First, a national non-profit that supports girls who are the first in their families to graduate from high school. We hold fundraisers and discussion groups to support girls in Sierra Leone that aspire to be doctors, lawyers and teachers. I am inspired by these girls and by my fellow students that share a similar passion. Together, we are truly making a difference for girls around the world and future generations!
